Lately, I had many computing disappointments: at first with my blog and on Sunday evening with my USB key. I made it fallen, clumsy person whom I am, so losing the models drawn during the summer.

Fortunately, I make at first my models on paper… just have to begin again everything on computer. I make that for two days.

But I had all the same a break yesterday with a “dye” expriment.

I am more and more demanding with the thread which I use for the frivolity. I definitively gave up Cébélia. It is a thread compound of 3 stalks, and I have to face the facts, the result is clearer with threads in 6 stalks as the cordonnet/spécial lace DMC and the Lisbeth.

When I use a thread of size 80, it is without hesitating special lace of DMC that has my preference. Made in France, we find it easily everywhere in a large number of color.

But when I need a size 40, at DMC there is only a white and a beige (it is as the Ford T: ” the color which you want since it is black “!). I eventually ordered of the thread Lisbeth but surprised in the reception of my order: it is made in China!

Then, let us see seeing: the cotton has can be been cultivated in India, it was transformed into China, marketed in the USA, before arriving at my home in France. Damned, this thread went round the world!

Voilà pourquoi j’en viens à utiliser mon fil DMC “local”. That’s why I come there to use my “local” thread DMC.

First try made a success in any small quantity and in turquoise blue.

  1. Sorry! I misunderstood! Yes, I prefer DMC too, but when I wanted #40 in the past, I reverted to Lizbeth. Not anymore! I just ordered some “#50 Omega for a pattern, which is a new thread for me. I hope I like it!

    1. Omega? I have never seen this thread. I am going to follow the results of your try on your blog with interest.
