Summer flower with double central rosette

Tutorial a double rosace – tutoriel de rosace à double rangée d’anneaux

I show how I make this style of “double row rosette”, to help Sue and all those interested. I learned this technique as well as many other things in Edwige Renaudin’s book.

  1. You need 2 shuttles: one shuttle with a lot of thread and the other one, just a little.
  2. You have to tat big rings (for example:7DS -7DS  -7DS -7DS) and small rings (for example: 4DS- 4DS -4DS -4DS).
  3. Begin with a big ring. Then turn the work and tat one DS with the least filled shuttle. So the ring is attached on a big ring. Be careful, that always has to slide to be closed at the end
101_1220It’s possible (and more easy) to close the ring at the end.

  4. Tat a little ring, and attach it to the central ring with an unflipped double stitch.

  5. Tat a big ring: the first picot is a joint with the first big ring. Attach it to the central ring with “reversed” double stitch.

  7. Tat a little ring: the first picot is a joint with the first little ring. Attach it to the central ring with an unflipped double stitch.
  8. So continue. It’s easier to fold the work. Be careful at the time of closing the central ring.
